The Little Bear Skinner

The Little Bear Skinner is made of ATS 34 stainless steel.  It has an overall length of 9 inches. The Blade is 4 ¾   inches in length, the thickness is 3/16 inches, and the blade is 1 1/8 wide. The handle has a nice grip form and is made of Black and Silver Diamond wood, which matches the stock of my son David’s Rifle, which he requested.

The Story Behind the Knife

This is a nice little knife, especially made to the specification of my second son David.  He is quite an outdoors man and a hunter of deer and elk.  He resides in Jackson Hole and is very much a lover of the beautiful Teton Mountains and the snow, also a lover of snowboarding.  When he is out hunting he likes a really sharp knife and one that will skin anything, even a bear if he runs across one.

Custom Hunting Knife, Bridger Jr

The Bridger Jr. has an overall length of 10 1/8 inches long. The blade is made of ATS 34, so it has a great edge holding edge.  The blade is 1 ½ inches wide and 3/16 inches thick and polished to a mirror finish with a length of 5 3/8 inches long.  The handle is make of silver black diamond wood. It’s big enough to chop up some firewood, yet agile enough to skin a beaver or an elk.

The Story Behind the Knife

I really like the look of this knife I call the Bridger Jr. I give it this name because Jim Bridger is one of my famous ancestors in the family.  I call it the Bridger Jr. because it looks like a knife he would let his son have, as he grew into manhood. Jim Bridger was one of the early mountain men of the west. He helped to improve the Oregon Trail and even had his own Fort in Wyoming. So in honor of my great, great, Uncle Jim, I made the knife the Bridger Jr.

This knife is 9 inches overall. The blade is made of ATS 34 stainless steel which buffs to a nice mirror finish. The blade is 4 ½ inches long and only 1 inch wide and 3/16 thick. I wanted the handle to really pop out, so I used a Black Cherry Polyester Perl.

The Story Behind the Knife

The Erin E was my first attempt to make a knife that is a little bit slimmer, more like some of my fellow knife makers. I really like how the handle looks on the knife.  This knife now belongs to my daughter because she just fell in love with it and the beautiful handle.

The Story Behind the Knife

When reading about and looking at knives I saw a lot of different type of knives. But I wanted to make a good hunting knife.  So the Rubin is what I came up with.  I am a big man so I like things that fit into my hand comfortably.  Both the Rubin and The Tim have wide blades and significant handles.

The knife is 8 inch overall length, 3 ½ long blade, 1 1/8″ wide blade, 3/16” thick full tang blade, made with ATS 34 stainless steel, as is the guard. The Handle is made of Black Dimondwood.

The Story Behind the Knife

This was the first knife after my lawn mower blade knives. I gave it to our son Tim, for his birthday. During my time of illness he was very helpful to me and my wife. It was my way of thanking him for his help.

The Mariee

The knife is 8 ½ inches in over all length. The blade is 5 inches long and is make of ATS 34 stainless steal.  The handle is made of a very hard wood called Liptus, with a golden oak oil stain finish, which gives it a nice blond look.

The Story Behind the Knife

This knife is named after my wife. She wanted a tradition western style knife. So this knife is not a drop point style, but a more western style, like I had when I was younger and did my fair share of mule deer hunting.  This knife also has a smaller shorter handle than the others (for her smaller hand) and a longer blade.

It has an overall length of 14 inches, with a blade length of 9 inches. The blade is 1 ½ inches wide and the width of the ATS 34 stainless steel is 3/16”.  The guard and fasteners are also stainless steel. The handle is made of a beautiful walnut tiger stripe resin wood.

The Story Behind the Knife

I took the Mariee knife to work to show around. My Boss loved it and now he owns it, but a coworker really liked the looks of the knife. He asked if I could make it with a longer blade, like 9 inches. I said sure and the Carlos was created.
